JOHN McDERMOND (Private) 47^th Regiment Lancashire Regiment At Inkerman, November 5^th 1854, this soldier saved the life of colonel Hely, who was lying wounded and surrounded by a number of Russians. McDermond rushed to his rescue and killed the soldier who had disabled him.
