Clipped Signature - Erich Hartmann.
The highest scoring fighter pilot of all time with 352 victories, Erich Hartmann flew Me109s with JG52. Under the tutelage of Walter Krupinski he excelled in ensuring a kill by holding fire until the enemy aircraft filled the windscreen. He surrendered to the Americans but was turned over to the Russians who held him captive until 1955 - he then served in the rebuilt German Air Force. He died in 1993.
